    Insightful article, and very relevant with the latest Google/robotics news.

    However, I don’t think that what you call the “last meter” problem will prevent these technologies from arriving in the near future. The problem with that argument is, it ignores the possibility of a human in the system. Military drones are an example of combined human/robot control, as is the Kiva factory automation system that Amazon is using in some of its warehouses. By handing over control to a human for the “last meter”, Amazon could avoid some of the trickiest parts of the problem, and I imagine by keeping humans in one place while the robots move around, they would still be saving money (as with the Kiva system).
