Mediocracy meets Robot Smog meets Sign Spinning

Alexandra Schmidt just published an NPR story for Morning Edition about sign-spinning mannequins in Los Angeles and elsewhere that are replacing human spinners. It’s an eerie conglomeration of robo-pollution (robot smog), of mediocracy’s thin edge of the wedge (eventual customized robo-marketing) and of course the underemployment trope.  The story is here: There’s a New Kind of Sign Spinner in Town.
